Personal Debit Card Opt-In/Opt-Out Option Overview

Starting August 15, 2010, new Federal Regulation requires us to obtain your consent to opt-in.

The disclosure and instructions for the opt-in process are contained in the enclosed form. There are a number of ways to respond and we only need to hear from you if you desire to add these types of transactions to your account. There is no fee to opt-in; however, if we cover a transaction without available funds, you will be subject to an overdraft fee of $33.00 per transaction.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you.

What You Need to Know about Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway.

What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my account?

We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
  • Automatic bill payments

We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to (see below):

  • ATM transactions
  • Everyday debit card transactions

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

What fees will I be charged if Anstaff Bank pays my overdraft?

Under our standard overdraft practices:

  • We will charge you a fee of up to $33 each time we pay an overdraft.
  • We will charge up to a maximum of 6 fees per day based on the number of overdraft items presented.
